Mary Foltz, Principal

I enjoy helping programs design and implement effective management systems and high-quality services for children and families, and have had the honor of doing so for over 35 years.

MY WORK WITH CLIENTS IS BASED ON:

  • establishing positive professional relationships

  • identifying strengths

  • striving for clarity

  • generating responsive and creative solutions

  • partnering to achieve quality results

As an Early Head Start (EHS) Start-Up Planner, I’ve helped numerous EHS programs implement services since it was first funded in 1994 – going from “paper to people” successfully.

With my associate, Charles Smith, I developed the “Secrets of Effective Supervision” and “Home Visiting Effectiveness” training programs. I am a faculty member and helped develop the Infant Toddler Mental Health Graduate Certificate Program at Portland State University.

MY AREAS OF EXPERTISE INCLUDE:

  • Program and Leadership Development, Program Evaluation

  • Strategic Planning

  • Staff Development, Reflective Supervision, Coaching

  • Child Development Services

  • Head Start Performance Standards

  • Retreat and Meeting Facilitation

  • Training and Public Speaking

My work takes me from above the Arctic Circle to Washington DC, and lots of interesting places in-between. It is deeply satisfying to see positive impacts realized in the lives of children, families, and staff.
